About Us

We are Drs. Doug and Cathy Ohlendorf. We live in Minnesota and are Macromolecular Structural Biologists at the University of Minnesota Medical School. We were high school sweethearts and have been married since 1971. On an icy night, March 5, 2004, our only son was a passenger in a car that was broadsided by a semi-truck. He died at the scene. We were left with a large hole in our hearts. Three years later, we founded KeDiOs Shelties to to honor the memory of our son, Keith Douglas Ohlendorf (1977-2004). Shelties had always been great companions to Keith as he grew up and a big part of our family. We strive to produce shelties that excel in body, mind and spirit. We feel that Keith and his sheltie pal Crystal would approve.
